A Short Guide to the Workings of Mass Effect 2

This little howdie doo contains minor spoilers! Also, unlike the average guide, who have literal gurus compiling them, I am no savant, and therefore not everything will be explored. I haven't done everything there is to do in this game, so I can't give details on everything.
My intention with this short guide is to provide information on basic game play elements regarding the major characters, but also to be entertaining and sort of vent a little on jargon, so naturally it will be flavored with my opinion no matter how objective I'm trying to be.

How did the first meeting go? Well, about as well as any meeting can go, considering the factors. The varied, conflicting factors.
I suppose the next question is just what -were- these conflicting factors. Well for one, we're both assassins, professionals, and never go back on a contract. Now normally this wouldn't be a problem, as when assassins cross paths, if either knows the other there is a sense comradeship, loose and untrustworthy, but comradeship none the less. Stay out of each others way, nod, keep going. Nice and clean, tense, but otherwise without issue.

I find it so amusing how some people believe they can act like nothing bad is happening and everyone will believe them. Even when that everyone includes people who know better.
People are so amusing...some can be so lovely and friendly, and others flip and flop their emotions like politicians flip flop views to try and get into office. I hate the ones who do that...the people.
Why can't they figure out who they are and what they really want? Why can't they be happy with what they had, before they threw it away in a fit of temper tantrums? Sometimes it just boggles me, so fascinating!
